ACCELERATE is a leadership program for talented Indigenous Australians working in the creative industries. In 2009, three outstanding candidates will receive a professional development program worth $20,000 that will take place in the UK and Australia. ACCELERATE farewells the 2009 award recipients

Recipients of the first annual ACCELERATE Program have just departed for the UK, where they’ll spend five weeks with some of the world’s leading cultural institutions.

Announced by the partners and sponsors of ACCELERATE at GARMA on 10 August, the receipients of the inaugural ACCELERATE programme are Alissa Duff originally of Thursday Island and currently at the Jumbunna Indigenous House of Learning with the University of Technology, Sydney; Peter White a Gamilaroi Murri from Tamworth and now Indigenous Cultural Development Officer at Arts NSW; and, Tina Baum, a descendant of the Larrakia/Wadaman.
